Busy but still juicing

So we have been really busy lately building our house so I haven't been blogging. We are almost done. The juicing is still going on we are all enjoying the benefits of juicing lately. I feel so much better after drinking two servings of juice a day and the kids are doing great drinking their helpings. Gracie is about to start school real soon. She will be going 5 half days a week, I think she is going to do great. We have reached the NO I Am not stage....It seems like this is all she likes to tell me lately when I ask her to do anything. I am not to fond of this stage and it seems at times I have to trick her into saying Yes. At least she is starting to realize there is a difference between No and Yes. She also mentioned to me that she hurt her foot which was very good. She has never really expressed of any sort of pain or hurt unless it was like an ear infection or something.  She also has been asking for help using the words I need help Please!!! unlike her just saying HELPPPP. All I can say folks is don't knock it till you try it.  Stay strong and happy :)

She went to the bathroom before she had an accident( actually asked ) Huge strides today....I do not want to say its the juice, but another part of me wants to keep going.
Her appetite has increased as well.

Mimi's Juice

1 small sweet potato
a good handful of  spinach
12 strawberries
2cups of grapes
1 golden delicious apple

I have to say my kids drank it and so did my 9 yr old niece.
Tip
If you think your child will get grossed out at the color put it in a dark colored cup.
If you have little ones put in a sippy cup with a top.

Morning cup of JUICE!!

So its early, my kids are up and running around and suprisingly drinking their morning juice this morning. Well, James is drinking like a champ and Gracie Mae seems to be a little slower but is enjoying it.
Juice recipe this morning...I will put it in order that I put it in the juicer.
1 Carrot
1 Cucumber
1 golden delicious Apple
1 peeled orange
2 handful of red grapes ( you can add more to sweeten)
1/2 of lemon peeled ( us peel when cooking or baking)
This one is a keeper. I love it and the kids love it :) Hope you have a good Sunday morning!!!

Little spicy 1, 2 Punch for Mommy

Lunch juice
Put Kale and Basil and Parsley in first
the juices from the other bring the leafy ones through the juicer.
I always put my fruits in last.
3 medium tomatoes
1 bunch of kale
2 limes(peeled if not its too tart)
1 medium sweet potato (scrub real good but do not peel)
handful parsley
8 leaves of basil
Spicy part is one poblano red pepper ( deseed before juicing or it might be to spicy)
1 golden delicous apple

Now my kids did not want any part in this one so I told them it was some medicine and gave them a couple tsp worth...hey any little bit will help them get vitamins and nutrients.

July 30 I love Blueberries

Blueberries and Blackberries- are rich in anthocyanins these phytonutrients have power.
The can reduce inflammation, increase detoxifying enzymes in the liver, and stop cancers from creating own lifeline-blood supply.  I got this from this website http://jointhereboot.com/reboot-program/nutritional-benefits/

There are many other fruits and vegetable benefits on this page...plus the community is an awesome one to join to understand the benefits and different ways to incorporate juicing into your life.

This mornings juice

1 large piece of kale
2 golden delicious apples
2 cups of red grapes
1 stalk of celery
2 cups of blueberries and blackberries

Gracie loves orange juice so I mixed in half cup of orange juice that she normally has because she is use to seeing me pour it in the morning...with ASD kids you have to disguise this stuff at first so add normal apple juice that they are use to or whatever juice they are use to and stick to your guns.
Keep offering them the juice and keep mixing it together with the other till they will drink it on without the other. Remember the key is to put as much of the juice you can into their bodies. Remember to refrigerate what you have left over but please read this wesite and suggestions for storing juice and also making it taste better http://juicing.mercola.com/sites/juicing/juicing.aspx

Happy day today for Gracie Mae
Her mood is very good and cheerful today.
She is potty training and with all the juice she is having better and easier bowel movements.
Make sure you increase the trips to the potty.
Breakfast
She had semi- homemade french toast
here is my recipe
Arnold's Honey wheat bread
two eggs
cream
cinnamon
tablespoon vanilla
and real maple syrup

With a cup of the juice above. It takes her about an hour to finish her juice I make for her but I do say reminding her and encouraging her to take sips and drink all her juice is key.
Have a great day and I will post tonight about the rest our day.
:)

JULY 7/25 I just can't sit back any longer

I started this blog to set out to help those around me who have a child with ASD or ADD.
My husband and I have been married for 5 years this September. We have two children Gracie Mae who is 3yrs and James who is almost 2yrs. When Gracie Mae was 2yrs old she was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Of course like all of you our hearts just sunk. How do we fix it? What caused this? Will she ever be able to live a normal life? These along with 100,000 other questions ran through our minds. Lucky for us Gracie was high functioning but had some serious delays. As a mom I have never searched and worked so hard to try and figure out the ways I can and should be helping her. Long story short we have tried vitamin supplements, diet restrictions, etc... My husband and I were inspired by a documentry we saw where a man healed an autoimmune disease that he attracted from eating the wrong types of food by juicing and juice fasting. I am not a doctor or a scientist but folks I think he is on to something.
I have given everything else a try so why not try juicing and getting rid of processed foods in our home. Now I know what you are thinking...That could get expensive. No, not if you think about it. I went to a fast food establishment the other day which in my book and others is not too bad and between buying one meal for myself and a kids meal for one of my children it was 12bucks. If my husband and son would have been there it would have been double the amount 24 dollars people and that is one meal.
We went to our local farmers market the other day and bought 24 dollars worth of fruits and vegetables and still we are eating and juicing from those items. It can be done it just takes some effort. The next thing I am sure you are wondering is it takes so much work to wash the veggies and fruits and juice and then have to clean the juicer. I think as I prepare the item to be juiced, this is my child's medicine...she needs this, her body needs this and how could I deny  my children what they need.
I know you are also thinking my children would never drink or eat that....Well let me tell you I have two little picky eaters and their diets consisted of chicken nuggets, french fries, pizza, spaghetti, and anything with sugar they love. So here is where you have to become creative and you have to ease them into it. The other thing is you have to be the example and set the standard. I know its hard being the example but it is time for us to no longer sit back and let this sickness take over our children. If you have read anything on Autism you will find there is issues with their little bodies not being able to detox themselves and their guts not digesting their food properly.
I am here to encourage you and I am here to share with you my journey in trying to help my Gracie Mae find clarity and feel comfortable in this extraordinary body and mind God has granted her. Stay tuned for recipes and a daily blog of behaviors and observations we encounter along the way.
